Graded papers went home today. Please sign and return.
Field trip information also went home today. The cost is 75.00 which includes bus, food and lodging.
Class news letter will be going home this Wednesday, September 1
Today in science we discussed the processes of respiration and photosynthesis.

Math Homework- R.T. Sheet 1.5. and row D for daily math facts. The students brought in some really cool items for our lesson on benchmarks.
Language Arts- page 4 in pwb
Science- worksheet page 35 only. Today students were supposed to bring in object for our periodic table. They really enjoyed this lesson because they were able to look at some cool objects such as gold and silver. They were supposed to identify if it was an element or a compound. We also learned that objects made out of steel can rust because is a compound of iron and oxygen call iron oxide. Iron oxide forms when iron reacts with oxygen in the air. Cool!
Here are the answers to tonight's science homework just in case you can't find it.
Page 35- 1. A compound is a substance made up of two or more elements that are chemically combined
2. During a chemical reaction one or more substances are changed into one or more different substances.
3. H2O
4. Iron Oxide has 2 atoms of iron and 3 atoms of oxygen
5. They are made up of large molecules call polymers.
6. Water is liquid at room temperature, dissolves many substances, and has a unique shape.

-Bring in a jar or bag full of something (make sure you know how much is in it)

Science- Bring in something that is on the periodic table. It can be a rock, marble, bottle, etc.

Today we learned how everything on earth is made up of one or more elements from the periodic table.
Make sure you are studying your vocabulary and spelling words, and your types of sentences for this week's test.
Parents, if you can send in any extra snacks for children who go without, that would be great! Have a great night.

Hi!

We had another great day! We learned about the different types of sentences (declarative, interrogative, and complete). We also did a review on subject/predicate. I tell you I have a lot of smart students. We also saw a cool picture of a star-nosed Mole. I tell you, he was unsightly!

Great Second Day!

Hi Parents and Students,
Please forgive me for the old post that you see from the previous year. I am trying to erase them.
I sent home a papers that need to be signed and return by tomorrow or the latest Friday. I also sent home a permission form that gives me permission to put pictures of your child on the blog and allows them to use the blog during computer time.
You will also see a letter for donations from 30-50 dollars. If you can't afford that, I am willing to take a lower amount because I understand that times are hard for everyone.
Please read over the information letter that provides an outline of all my expectation for this school year.
On the left I provided the vocabulary and spelling words for lesson one of our Storytown series. We will have our first weekly test on Friday August 20th.
We had a great time in Science today. The students learned the name of a substance scientist use to make diapers! Polysodimacrylate!
