Mrs. Smith from AMSTI came to our class today to teach a lesson on acids and bases. This hands on activity enable the students to experiment with different types of solutions. We discovered that cabbage juice serves as a great indicator for acidity and basic liquids! We also learned that alcohol is a neutral liquid.

For those students who did not get a reading log for the next two weeks, make sure you get one tomorrow. They will be next to the printer.
If you are on the list to bring snacks and drinks for tomorrow, don't forget. But, if you do, then that's ok.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Today was a long day of testing. Tomorrow will be 10 minutes longer, so get plenty of rest and relaxation.
See you tomorrow!

What's Going on this week?
Hi Parents and Students,
We are in our second week of testing. Tomorrow the students will be taking the reading and language arts SAT test. It will be helpful for them to have a good night sleep.
Two students have already agreed to bring in snacks and drink for tomorrow and Wednesday. Thank you in advance.
Science- We are studying animal relationships in various ecosystems. After giving a refresher course on carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores, we learned about the different types of relationships of various types of species. Mutualism-two animals living together and both are benefiting from this union (Yak and a bird). Commensialism- two animals living together but only one benefits while the other is unharmed (a polar bear with microorganism grow on its fur). Parasitism- two animals living together with one benefiting and the other is harmed (leeches and hippo)
Tomorrow we will finish watching the movie "Up". If you have any "safe" movies that you wouldn't mind me borrowing, that would be helpful!

• We are lighter on the moon because the moon has less gravitational pull
• To change the density of an object you can do one of two things. decrease the volume and keep the mass the same. Or you can increase the mass and keep the volume the same.
